Rafer Roberts Plastic Farm on The Comic Book Attic

The interview I recorded with Michael Pindell at Comic Book Attic is now up.

(You can also subscribe through iTunes)

I think I went crazy about halfway through and went on an obscenity filled rant against Delta Airlines. At one point I think I declared my intention that Plastic Farm, in addition to the digital downloads, at some point in the future, will be available from a cow's ass. All of this, I believe, was wi…

Paul Burke Retrospective Detective: An Intro

It seems like FOREVER since I had an email from Canada informing me that a start up publisher was interested in picking up my book. I think I must have been home at the time as I seem to recall doing a little dance... wouldn't have done that at work, I hope.

Back then, the book in question was called HARD BOILED ED. I loved that name. Sounds like hard boiled egg. Don't ask me why, but it felt right. Wesley convinced me otherwise. There's a story on AICN… Continue

David Doub Why are Vampires better than Zombies?

Zombies have no real mythos or history. Most zombie stories are merely metaphors for issues that at the time can't be discussed head on due to the popular opinion of the time. George Romero's Living Dead movies are prime example of that. His movies really weren't about the living dead but more to do about messages concerning racism to consumerism. Only after the success of those movies, did zombies become popular in our culture and zombie movies were made just for the sake…

David Doub Creating Dusk

I've always been a big fan of vampires and the supernatural. I just seemed to like the stories and mythology of vampires, like when I was younger I was always fascinated by the Greek/Roman mythologies.

Now, watching the movies and reading the stories of vampires was fun, but my interest in creating vampire stories didn't really happen until I started playing the table top role-playing game Vampire – The Masquerad

Rafer Roberts Plastic Farm Comic Book Dance Party

The Plastic Farm podcast has returned with a brand new format. I am now doing a "director's commentary" style podcast where I ramble on incoherantly about each issue of Plastic Farm while trying to drown out the sounds of monkeys and roosters and industrial machines. Each episode, which is planned to be monthly (but we'll see how that goes), will also feature a few tracks from the various Plastic Farm soundtracks as well as a few tracks that were left off. In this first episode of the Comic Bo… Continue
